Technology, Politics and the Future of Democracy
Technology was meant to set us free. It has certainly changed radically the way we live our lives. But have we unwittingly handed too much away to big tech firms, Silicon Valley utopians, ad men and venture capitalists? Will those who control these technologies increasingly control the rest of us? What will happen to liberty? Will tech decide the future of democracy, causing it to flourish or decay? And critically, how can we regain control?
Jamie Susskind (Future Politics: Living Together in a World Transformed by Tech) joins Sarah Ditum to debate the future of politics and technology.
