To You - It's all about touching and feeling
Lunchtime Talks
Please note: This event took place in Oct 2018
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
To You, is an interactive artist book that responds to the reader's body heat. The book merges contemporary philosophical theories of love, attachment, and loss with autobiography and fiction. It makes parallels between the intense erotic delusions played out in the exchange of love letters, that were never sent, and the dynamics of human relationships. Imbued with the reader’s affection it responds to body heat and leaves temporal traces of the reader’s fingerprints.
In this Lunchtime Talk Studio Resident Yiota Demetriou will discuss the book’s conceptual design, narrative and structure and how she has attempted to capture and viscerally deliver the complex systems and extraordinary consequences associated with falling in love, and how such events can retroactively change oneself.
The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk.
