For this talk we are joined by Adrienne Hart, Artistic Director of Neon Dance and collaborator Hemma Philamore from University of Bristol's Robotics Lab to discuss their latest work Prehension Blooms and share their early prototype designs.

Neon Dance is an internationally renowned organisation that creates dance works that explore technology and design with the body as the central tenet. Prehension Blooms, its new work explores social connectivity and collaboration using bio-inspired robotics. The work is designed to unravel the origins of loneliness and set to premiere at Bristol Beacon (UK) and Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (JP).

In Prehension Blooms, the public will be free to roam in the performance space, they will encounter five dancers, an insect-like robot community and each other in playful and unexpected ways. By moving, sitting, lying down and congregating in the space, audiences can influence all aspects of the performance including light and sound design.
